David Lachapelle's work is strong he often creates a sense of humour, political awareness and especially social awareness. Importantly he uses celebrities which he exaggerates aspects of their personalities and their personal lives. He plays with imagery/symbols/iconography to pass on ideas to his viewers. His work often display as 'show' like notion, as though you stumbled upon a scene and it has frozen in time. Really powerful and vibrant, his works are often displayed quite large and at times busy - lots of different things happening at once.
